Welcome to the website of the
research project, Education as a Risky Asset

Why would an individual ever want to become a schoolteacher
or a nurse, when wages of engineers are generally higher?
One answer could be that some educations (here: school teaching
and nursing) are relatively safe investments, whereas others
(here: engineering) are risky due to, for instance, risk of
failure or varying job prospects over the business cycle.
